Basketball Clinic

This program is available to Boys & Girls ages 4 & 5 years old. The co-ed program is clinic-based; there are no teams. It provides an opportunity for players to learn and enhance basic basketball skills with their peers. 

Intramural – This program is available to Boys & Girls ages 6 &7 years old. Players will meet once a week on Saturday mornings in Bishop Ford/K280 school gym. Each child will be assigned to a team. All players will participate together in skill building drills followed by a team game. This beginner-level program will teach players basic basketball skills to enhance their understanding of the game while giving them the full experience in playing the sport.

Travel

This program is available to Boys & Girls ages 8 to 14 years old. Players will compete in CYO Travel Basketball and will play games throughout Brooklyn and Queens with home games at held at the Bishop Ford/K280 school gym. Each child will be assigned to a team.

Boy’s Swimming The Swim Program runs for the boys from October through January and is open to students ages 7-14. The program is open to boys and girls who live in the Holy Name of Jesus Parish or live in adjoining parishes that do not have their own CYO swim program. We practice each week, swim in approximately 8-9 meets a season and then participate in the CYO championships.

While we do work on improving stroke techniques, this is not swimming lessons. Children must be able to swim 25 yards (1 lap of the pool) without assistance. Swimming tryouts will be performed prior to a swimmer registering for the team.

Competitions

Friday evenings at Bayside High School, Richmond Hill High School or Fort Hamilton High School at either 7:00 PM, 8:00 PM or 9:00 PM. Times vary from week to week. Boys’ swim meets are held from November through January. There are also additional weekend meets at the end of each season for Olympics and Championships. The times and locations for these meets vary.
